Verve / Instinct: Lars Åkerlund + Reinhold Friedl

For many years, Reinhold Friedl and Lars Åkerlund have crossed paths at festivals and venues around the world. In February 2024, they finally met in Berlin to record Verve / Instinkt , which is now being released. Merging grand piano and electronics, they create intense, improvised music where the boundaries between instrument and electronics disappear. Friedl transforms the piano into a strange sound machine, while Åkerlund’s analogue synthesizer and digital tools generate vast waves of sound.
